Sensual and upsetting and outrageously beautiful. Everyone rules in this but Lily-Rose Depp is mesmerizing.

I was really moved by this. Such a beautiful meditation on the selfishness of faith and dogma, and the nature of doubt. Feels very touching that Marty as a catholic would make something so delicate and kind without falling into the pitfalls of the colonialist christian lens. What an incredible movie.

It's so silly. Fun tho! Feels like M. Night kept challenging himself to write his character out of bigger and bigger pickles. Also like he's never consumed a single second of true crime.

So much fun! It has heart, it has laughs! Like a Safdie-light adventure. Baker clearly likes and has a lot of empathy for his characters. Loved it.
Perfectly fun and entertaining I guess, yet somehow it feels so... hollow. I can see what it was, and as an artifact it's outstanding; the action set pieces are so much fun and iconic, even if now feels more like a theme park ride than a movie. But to be mesmerized by It's horrible characters and pro-colonialist vibes still today seems silly to me.
What a picture. He shouldn't have abandoned his kids but to be fair his family sucks. That last sequence is everything.
