Ilaria Bagarolo

Ilaria Bagarolo aka Gary (Italy, 1996) is based between Turin and Paris.

With a background in art management and then contemporary dance, artistic process involves different fields of research. Gravitating between bodywork, video art and photography, installations, queer activism and practice-based investigation projects, she questions the meaning of well-being in a fluid-digitalized society. Gary’s research is a true metaphor in constant reshape; it goes through continuous semantic and conceptual reversals, which places particular attention on the human condition and its oppressive/curious/ridiculous/incoherent/ambiguous absurdity.
